Minor Inconveniences
It’s been one of those weeks of minor conveniences that build and build. By Friday I’m walking around like Arthur w my fists clenched. A week of technical inconveniences. Poor WiFi, 5G not working, water damaged laptop, long lines and wait times to get anything done. You ever have those moments where your first world problems seem truly unbearable? Like when the internet’s not working. Or when you spill a white claw on your Mac Book. Or when you’re locked out of all your apps bc of a new phone AND a new number. Those are definitely all minor inconveniences, first world problems. But add a bunch of them bitches up and it’s a week of getting nothing accomplished.
By the end of the week, I was tense. I caught myself directing my anger towards people who didn’t deserve it. Just everyday people doing their jobs. This pandemic has services slower and more frustrating than usual and I forget that it’s not any of our faults. Like I can’t be mad at the UPS Store for making me stand outside in the heat to do any exchanges. Or it wasn’t my esthetician’s fault that she couldn’t find my account in their system at the wax center. Or it’s not the Verizon store’s fault that there’s a lag in the 4G to 5G transition 🙄
All these minor inconveniences seem so insignificant but with the kind of week it’s been (election week/period/general depression) It’s been hell!
Here’s to more deep breaths, lavender oil and gratitude for the rest of the week!
